until the privatization in 1987.
By wearing these special Shoes it was
proofed, that no Sparks could be produced by wearing Nailed Soles as a
prevention of Explosions in the Powder Rooms etc.
To stop private use of
these Shoes, they were stamped with a "Broad Arrow" on the outer
sides.
