Leather Case
for Passport Control Units of the Stasi in the GDR Border Guards of the
subordinate Units of the Department VI of the MfS.
These Cases were
used at the border on beginning Holiday's at the first security check
before transporting the collected Travel Documents to the Office Building.
These were collected in each of the vehicle associated bags and then
brought to the control building. On these, different Notices could be
applied using different coloured crayons, for example for special inspections,
etc. These Crayons were mounted in the inner loops.
The Cases we offer,
are from the Depot of the Control Point Drewitz.
On the western
side the name was Dreilinden or for Allied Vehicles Checkpoint Alpha.
Not to be confused with the Checkpoint Charlie on Friedrichstrasse.
