Potsdam (ADN). The joint military exercise of GSFG and NVA was continued on Tuesday. Motor Rifles, Armored and Artillery Troops built their positions from pioneer moderately and prepared to defend acts before. In the exercise under the direction of Major General Stanislav Rumyantsev, commander of an army of GSFG, up to 20,100 members of both fraternal armies are involved. Used are 314 Tanks, 311 Artillery Guns, 393 Anti-Tank Missile Launchers and 51 Helicopters. These are 500 Soldiers and 94 Tanks less than announced by the Government of the GDR.
In accordance with the documents of the Stockholm Conference on Confidence-and Security-Building Measures and Disarmament in Europe, 40 Observers from 20 CSCE States took part in this exercise. They come from Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Czechoslovakia, from Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Yugoslavia, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Hungary and the USA .
